Sorry for sending a second email this week, but I thought a followup was warranted.
In my last message, I wrote about how great a service BookFunnel is because it provides a spectacular experience for readers. I realized that the email was a total “show, don’t tell” fail, because I could easily show you what the reader experience is like.
I’ve created a special BookFunnel download page that will allow you to get a free copy of The Gamerunners, my middle-grade (ages 9+) virtual reality gaming novel. I had previously uploaded The Gamerunners to BookFunnel, so it took only a minute to create a new landing page for it. This landing page will work until the end of April, or until a configurable set of downloads is reached.
Give it a try. You (or your child) are certainly welcome to read the book, but my goal really is just to let you see what the reader experience is like.
On my Mac, this is what I see if I click the button to get the book:
Behind each of these options lay instructions designed to be as easy as possible. For the Kindle eInk readers, they give instructions (and a video!) for using the “experimental browser” to quickly download the book directly on the device. For iOS devices, they recommend the BookFunnel app, because it’s very easy to get people going that way.
Going to the download page on my iPhone, I see these options:
They have really optimized the experience of getting you to a position to read on your device of choice as quickly as possible.
BookFunnel has other nice features for author/publishers, but the reader experience is the first reason I drive people there.
Forgive my two-emails-this-week intrusion, but I thought this followup was an important companion for my raving about BookFunnel.
